Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 in the works already!

 Samsung is company that always keeps its pace and tempo and their track record and customer loyalty is amazing! With that said, it is no surprise that they have announced that the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 are in the works during the CES 2013 event. Of course they did not showcase any information, but they have left the world to wonder and create all sorts of different rumors. For example, it is said that the Note 3 will come with a 6,3 inch display and that the S4 will also get larger and have a display screen with a diagonal of 4,99 inches! Both devices are expected to feature a stylus pen, but these are still rumors of course.

 What isn't a rumor though, is the story of Samsung Exynos eight-core processor which is expected to power the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3. The model we are referring to is called Exynos 5 Octa and it was presented at CES 2013. This technology isn't a real eight-core processor CPU though as the eight cores do not work together at the same time. There are 2 groups of 4 chips in the Exynos 5 Octa: the smaller ones are active for regular tasks, while the bigger ones stay inactive to prevent battery drain; if the user performs an advanced actions such as gaming or video HD streaming, the 4  smaller chips shut down and the 4 bigger ones turn on in order to provide great performance.

 So yes, the Exynos 5 Octa does have eight cores, but they do not work at the same time which doesn't really earn it the title of an eight-core processor. Either way, it is a very powerful CPU and a great new feature of the Galaxy S4 and the Note 3.

Galaxy Note 2 Mobilicity, Telus and Wind Mobile announce the new phablet!

 There has been a buzz of excitement from Canadian-based mobile phone companies and users about the pending launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The Galaxy Note 2 is set to be released in North America on October 24th, 2012 during a media event to be held in New York.

 Many mobile phone carriers in Canada, including Mobilicity, Telus Mobility and Wind Mobile, had already announced that the Samsung’s latest arrival will be released in the fall. Telus Mobility went a step further to announce that the new smartphone cum tablet will be available on October 30th, just a few days after the official launch. This is certainly good news for all Telus subscribers who have been waiting with bated breath to own the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.  Although they have given an official date of release, Telus failed to mention what the prospective consumer should be ready to part with once the phone is available. However, the price of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to be announced very soon. Following Telus’ example, other Canadian mobile carriers are also expected to make the announcements in due time.

 The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is certainly an upgrade from the original Galaxy Note in many ways. The new handset has a much larger display, which measures 5.5-inches, it is thinner than the original at 9.4mm and it has RAM of 2 GB. In addition, enhancements were made to the S Pen that make it much easier to use.

 Telus had previously listed the new handset under “coming soon,” but they have recently changed that to declare the launch date of the Note 2, which as we said earlier will be on Tuesday, 30th October, 2012. However, there is still no indication of the expected price range. As anticipated, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will also be available at Mobilicity, Bell, SaskTel, Rogers, WIND and Videotron.

Galaxy Note 2 vs Galaxy Note - the Review!

 The Samsung Galaxy Note was one of the devices that took the Android market by storm. With the pending release of Samsung’s second edition of the Galaxy Note, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, many Android users wish to know if it is actually better than the original and if it would be wise to purchase it once it is launched. To find out if it is worth it, one must compare the features of one against the other. So, we are moving from our Galaxy Note 2 vs iPhone 5 review and heading into the unknown by trying the answer the debate of Galaxy Note 2 vs Galaxy Note!

 With reference to the phone’s display, it would seem that Samsung decided that it didn’t require any upgrading. The display of the Galaxy Note 2 is exactly the same as that of its predecessor though it is slightly longer by 0.2 inches. The international version of the Samsung Galaxy Note came with a 4210 SoC that featured both a Mali 400 GPU and 1.4GHz A9 processor (dual-core). The United States version came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255T System on a Chip (SoC) that featured an Adreno 205 GPU and a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor (single-core).

 The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has 2GB of RAM, which is double that of the original Galaxy Note, which makes multitasking on the new device extremely smooth. The device also comes with a 3100 mAh battery, which is an improvement on the original Note’s 2500 mAh battery. However, experts do not believe that the 3100 mAh battery will give better results since the Galaxy Note 2’s CPU and larger screen are expected to use up most of the battery life. 

With regard to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2’s camera, it seems to be similar to that of its predecessor. Both phones use an 8MP camera as a primary camera and a 2MP camera as a secondary camera. So far, it is hard to tell whether the sensors on the phone’s cameras are the same. 

 The S Pen of the Galaxy Note 2 is longer and wider as compared to that of the original Note. In addition, it comes with a rubber tip that gives the S Pen a better grip. The new device also has all the smart features that a Samsung Galaxy S3 has, for instance Smart Alerts and Smart Stay. Needless to say, the Galaxy Note doesn’t have these software tweaks, giving the Note 2 the upper hand. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has additional functions and features like a Screen Recorder, S-Pen Quick Commands and an alert that lets you know when the S Pen has not been holstered. 

 With that, it is clear that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is better in most ways than the Samsung Galaxy Note. However, it is recommended that if you have the original Galaxy Note, you can opt not to buy the new device unless you require increased processing capabilities.

Galaxy Note 2 vs iPhone 5 Review

 This Galaxy Note 2 vs the iPhone 5 review will not turn into an Apple versus Samsung war, but this is certainly a fight that never ends. Apple and Samsung have been in a few trials lately all over the world. One of the greatest trials was the one in the U.S. after which Samsung had to pay a billion dollar fine. After that trial, both Apple and Samsung released great smartphone devices. And now everyone is asking the same question: which device is better in the field of features and specifications? iPhone 5 or Galaxy Note 2? Let’s find out!

The iPhone 5 next to the giant Galaxy Note 2

 First, let’s compare them at display field. iPhone 5 has a 4 inch LCD Retina display. Its resolution is 640 x 1136 pixels. The Galaxy Note 2 uses a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, with resolution of 1280 x 720. Therefore, Note 2 has a larger footprint. It weighs more and has bigger measurements. Even though that might cause some inconvenience when using Note 2 with one hand, Note 2 obviously has a great advantage at this field.

 Let’s go to the CPU, GPU and RAM field.  Galaxy Note 2 is powered with a 1.6 GHz quad-core A9 CPU, it has Mali 400 MP GPU and 2 GB of RAM. iPhone 5 has the new Apple A6 SoC, which is supposed to be twice faster than A5 SoC inside the iPhone 4S. If Apple is telling the truth about these numbers, iPhone 5 might have a slightly smaller advantage over the Note 2 when it comes to  CPU speed. But still, both devices are great in this field. Note II has a great advantage in the storage field too. iPhone 5 comes in 3 versions : 16GB, 32 GB and 64 GB variants. It has no room for expansion, since it does not have SD expansion slot. Note 2 comes in these variants too, but it has room for expansion, up to 64 GB.

 iPhone 5 has a LTE connectivity. That is a major change brought with this smartphone. Galaxy Note 2 LTE version has been announced and promised to arrive soon. Until it is officially released, iPhone 5 and Note 2 can’t really be compared at this field.  As for the camera, iPhone 5 comes with 8 MP iSight camera, which is said to be improved compared to the camera of iPhone 4S. Note II has the 8 MP camera too. Considering that we have to wait for test photos on iPhone 5, we cannot pass the verdict, but it might be possible that iPhone 5 will capture higer quality photos than Note II.  Note II has NFC and a standard microUSB port for charging and for data. iPhone 5 does not have NFC chip, and it does not have a proprietary port for data and for charging.

 On to the software field. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was the first flagship smartphone to come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. But, the Note II also comes with some additional features unique for it. Note II also comes with S Pen, that provides interesting features like Air View, PopUp Note, Easy Clip etc… iPhone 5 uses iOS 6. Even though iOS 6 is great, and represents the great step forward, Android offers much more to the users than iOS.

 And last, but not least – prices and release dates field. Note 2 will be launched around the world in October, and in the U.S. during late 2012. Pricing and exact release dates are still unknown. iPhone 5 is also available worldwide, and it has been available in the U.S. since September 14. The prices are $199 for the 16 GB variant, $299 for the 32 GB variant and $399 for the 64 GB variant. Due to the lack of information, verdict can’t be passed on this field.

 Overall conclusion is that Samsung Galaxy Note II is obviously the winner. iPhone 5 is a great device, which comes with many cool features, but Note II is simply better in almost all fields, as we pointed out. And another important thing is the fact that Note II is much more unique than iPhone 5.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 release date on October 24?

 We all know by now thаt Sаmsung has scheduled a USA based medіa еvent regardіng the Οctobеr 24 rumored release date tο announce thе ѕеcond coming of the Galаxу Notе in the region. To be more accurate, the Galaxy Note 2 is expected to be anounced in the USA by the end of October and released via carriers by the start of November.  Samsung hаs already confirmed that  much as fіve American сarriers will launch the Galаxy Note 2 by mid-Νovember, althоugh we don't have releаse datеs for any of them. Recent rumors suggest that T-Mobile will be received the device by October the 24th which will certainly be a good reason for fans to go over there and sign a two-year contract.

 When it comes other carriers, Ѕprint and U.S. Cellular hаve already announced their Galаxy Notе 2 versіоnѕ but no prices are known just yet. When it comes to T-Mobile, their blog TmoNews reports that the T-Mobіle Galaxy Note 2 version could be launched on Oсtobеr 24, which is the same date as when Samsung will be hosting their special event in NYC. Everything points to T-Mobile getting exclusive rights before the other carriers, which makes us wonder just what sort of deal they made with Samsung to get that far ahead.

 It is known that T-Mobile will offer both the Marble White and Titanium Grеy models with (of course) complete with bloatwаre οn top. A bonus for T-Mobile customers will be the preinstalled game Need for Speed: Most Wanted which comes as one of loyalty bonuses if you choose to get the Note 2 via T-Mobile.

Galaxy Note 2 in the U.S. by the end of November

  One of the greatest sensations out there in the world of IT is Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Note 2’s launch was confirmed with 5 U.S. carriers : Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile & U.S. Cellular. A week and a half ago, all of them confirmed that they will have the second-generation phablet in their stocks by mid-November! The actual release date for each carrier has not been announced and therefore, we will have to wait for them to make their own announcements. 

 But, wait, there’s more! A few days ago, we heard that AT&T might release Note 2 on October 21 or at least around then. It would be a great accomplishment for Samsung, because it is best to launch the device in as many as markets as possible. But, AT&T has not confirmed that date, so we can’t be certain about anything.

 In case you forgot, here is a reminder of what makes this device so amazing. First of all, it comes with 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD touchscreen display, 1280 X 720 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. It is thinner that original Note - its measurements are 80 X 151.1 X 9.4 mm, and it weighs 180 grams.

 It is powered by 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos CPU, with 2 GB of RAM and 16/32/64 GB of intern memory, while also having a microSDHC support of up to 64 GB of storage. It has a 3.100 mAh battery with faster charging.

It has 8-megapixel rear-camera with Auto Focus, LED flash and HD video recording and 2-megapixel front camera. It has HSPA+ support, 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and Glonass support. 

 The Galaxy Note 2 comes with Android 4.1. Jelly Bean and with redesigned S-Pen, which is now wider and longer. Note 2 comes in two colors : Marble White and Titanium Grey.

Galaxy Note 2 Major Carriers Confirmed!

 We had an interesting article not so long ago about Verizon and AT&T might be the carriers for the Galaxy Note 2, and today that rumor has been confirmed along with a few others. Namely, the big four - Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile will, along with the regional U.S. Cellular be the official carriers of the new Galaxy Note 2. This leaves consumers with a lot of options to choose from in case you want to buy the Note 2 via one of these carriers.

 Samsung has also given us a hint at the release date for the USA as the device is expected to be in stock of the carriers by mid-November. This doesn't sound very optimistic for those who can't wait to get their hands on the new device, but we remind you that the same situation was present with the original Galaxy Note which was released in the USA three months after it was officially released in other parts of the world. Still, without an official release date is hard for us to say anything at the moment other than quote some rumors. Recently there were stories about a release on the 21st of October by AT&T but it seems this might be highly incorrect. The company did not respond to these claims.

 As for Sprint, the news on the wire is that you won't be seeing the device any sooner than what Samsung has said. On a good note, those who get the Galaxy Note 2 via Sprint can look forward towards a very good 4G LTE plan that this carrier is offering. As for U.S. Cellular, they announced that the Galaxy Note 2 16 GB model will be available somewhere in late October, for $299.99 after an instant $100 rebate with a two-year contract. Preorders are open on their site in case you want to book your version of their Galaxy Note 2.

Samsung is releasing the brand new, second-generation phablet quite soon. You already know that it has been announced at the IFA 2012, held in Berlin. The exact release date is still unknown, though  and you can read your first on the-spot Galaxy Note 2 review if you haven't already.

  There has been quite a few rumors about the Galaxy Note 2, from T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T, but there is also a Verizon rumor about the Galaxy Note 2. 

 It is interesting to note that someone at Verizon has been testing the Galaxy Note 2 already, on August 16, much earlier than Samsung’s Unpacked mobile event in Berlin when the second-generation phablet was officially unveiled. Remember that that was held on August 29 and it seems Samsung gave their trusted partner a head's up on the device much sooner than others. Still, Verizon is a bit slow on the release date.

 There is not much information about specifications and features of Verizon’s version of the Galaxy Note 2. It is quite possible that Verizon’s Galaxy Note 2 will have a quad-core Exynos processor and 4G LTE service. The design should look almost exactly like the international model, but everything will be branded, possibly even the home button!

AT&T getting the Galaxy Note 2

 What you should know about the phone is that the Galaxy Note 2 has a stunning 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD touchscreen display, 1280 X 720 resolution with aspect ratio 16:9. It has 2 GB of RAM, internal memory goes up to 64 GB, but you can also equip it with a microSD card, up to 64 GB.

 It features 8 MP rear-facing camera and 2 MP front-facing camera. 8 MP camera has Auto Focus, LED flash and HD video recording.

It also has Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3100 mAh battery. Its OS is Android 4.1. Jelly Bean. S pen has been improved too. 

 Another thing that was revealed is that, aside from the Big Four, regional carrier U.S. Cellular will have Galaxy Note 2 in stock too. That means that there will be 5 mobile operators who are rumored to launch Galaxy Note 2 in the next few months. Samsung is definitely taking different approach to this market than when Galaxy Note was released.

Galaxy Note 2 Review: Device presented at Samsung Unpacked in Berlin! [video + early review]

 Finally, we can feast on Samsung's latest creation, the Galaxy Note 2, a brilliant 5.5 inch smartphone featuring Super AMOLED HD and a 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos processor! While it is still early for a full on front Galaxy Note 2 review, we can give our early opinions and state the facts for you. The Galaxy Note 2 was just presented today at the Samsung Unpacked event in Berlin and fans were stunned by its awesome features and specs.

 Granted, the Note 2 does remind us of the Galaxy S3 smartphone a bit too much, but this can only be a good thing and you can rest assured that the Galaxy Note 2 is quite a unique device. So, are you ready to dive into this early Galaxy Note 2 review?

 The Galaxy Note 2 is quite an impressive device and you can look at the full list of specs to judge for yourself. If we had to highlight something in this Galaxy Note 2 review then that would be the brilliant quad-core processor, the improved Stylus and the brilliant camera as well as the record-braking 5.5 inch screen. The Galaxy Note 2 really has a lot going on for it and it is no longer just an improved version of the previous generation as some rumors online called it.

 The company has even made the Note 2 available with the latest Android OS - Jelly Bean which should be appreciated by everyone, especially the more advanced users. Of course the OS has been modified to suit the phones needs, especially those of the new S-Pen and its features.

  The redesigned S-Pen gives a whole new perspective the the Galaxy Note 2 as well and I can already see that it will be a tricky subject of future Galaxy Note 2 review sessions. The new rubber tip is supposed to make it feel more natural - as if you are writing on a piece of paper. It is hard to tell until we get a chance to mess around with it, but those who were at the event say that the feeling was amazing. For the developers, there will also be an S-Pen SDK version 2.2 available for download soon.

Galaxy Note 2 Trailer (Samsung Unpacked Berlin 2012)

 Ready for some Galaxy Note 2 goodies? This time we have a nice video to get our imagination going as it is the official teaser trailer for the Samsung Unpacked event in Berlin which will be held on the 29th of August. It is rumored that the Galaxy Note 2 will be presented to the public at this event and this video pretty much shows that you can expect it. No details are released in the video itself but Samsung has given us some hints and certainly stirred up our imagination. Have a look at the video yourself:
 

 The obvious focus on the creative aspect of the event and that of the Galaxy Note 2 perhaps serves as introduction to some new creative features from either the software or the hardware aspect. Perhaps we can expect a new type of S Pen which will work miracles on the new Note? As for the person in the video his name is Wim Wenders and he is a German film director, producer and a photographer and this furthermore increase the creative side of the device. How well will it do on our Galaxy Note 2 review remains to be seen, but we are very eager to have a look at it. 

 The leaked images of Galaxy Note 2's 5.5 inch screen really stirred up the media this week and we only have one week to go before we get to see the device in action!

 In case you cannot make it to Germany to get to Berlin on the 29th of August to come to this Samsung Unpacked event then don't worry as you can still watch the event being streamed online via their Facebook page. A similar concept was used with the Galaxy S3 unveiling at Samsung Unpacked in London so you can expect the stream to be high quality. Once the device comes out you can certainly expect us to write our own Galaxy Note 2 review.

Galaxy Note 2 leaked photo confirms the 5.5 inch screen!

 The image bellow this paragraph confirms the latest rumors on the net concerning the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 screen size. It was disputed wheatear or not it will be larger than the first Note and now we have proof that it will indeed have a display that is 0.2 inches larger than its predecessor. Before you scroll down to see the photo you should know that it was leaked online by an individual who reports simply called “William” and who is in no way related to this blog.

 May I remind you that the first Samsung Galaxy Note was dubbed as a "phablet"? I am saying this as it wasn’t the first and only device to get labeled as such, but the latest Galaxy Note 2 may perhaps be called the Mother of Phablets in the near future. In fact, it is safe to say that due to its 5.5-inch screen, the Galaxy Note 2 will no doubt go deeper into the realm of the miniature tablets that perform the functions of a mobile smartphone as well.

Galaxy Note 2 – the Best of both worlds?

 Due to that 5.5 inch screen we keep talking about this can no longer be referred to as any other ordinary smartphone. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will enter the halls of fame and will be the largest smartphone that has ever been released. This device will certainly be too large to fit into your pocket but it will in return have a brilliant 5.5 inch screen with great depth and color.

 There is something impressive cooking behind the hood of the Galaxy Note 2 as well! While it will be slimmer and thinner, it will still have a lot of extra space to fit in more powerful components. Such as the overclocked 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos processor which is one of the versions found in the powerful Samsung Galaxy S3. We can also expect the Galaxy Note 2 to come with the smooth Jelly Bean OS and a 12 MP camera! I am however a bit skeptical about the 12 MP camera and I think that an 8 MP camera will be enough. If it also comes with the impressive software for the Galaxy S3 then the Galaxy Note 2 will be a very powerful device.

Galaxy Note 2 will have 2 unveilings, one for the US and one for Europe

 The Galaxy Note 2 is not the flagship device this year and it is normal to expect it to stay in the shadow of the massive Galaxy S3 advertising campaign. Even so, there is a lot of interest in Samsung's new phablet and to be honest it is the most awaited Android devices at the moment. This means that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 deserves a bit of its own spotlight and attention and to start things off the South Korean company will make sure it gets unveiled on two special events, one for the USA and the other for Europe. This August will be rather busy for the folks over at Samsung!

Carriers in the US will be announced in September.

 The first rumor of the Galaxy Note 2 event came in July and its said that we could expect the device on August 15. This however didn't fit well with Samsung's statement that we can expect the Note 2 around August 30, right before IFA’s official start. But what about both? Crazy idea? But why not? It is not such an impossible suggestion. After all, people in the USA waited for a couple of weeks to get the Galaxy S3 while those in Europe got it right away after the unveiling.

 The authors of Netzwelt.de speculate something different though and tell us that they think that the US public will see the device on the 15^th and tech fans will see it in Europe on the 30^th of August. Maybe there is truth to this as Samsung is holding its Unpacked event on the 29th of August in Berlin, Germany!

Yay for Germany!

 The lack of news concerning a launch event in the US however show that there won't be a mid-August release date or unveiling for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. In fact, the recent legal dispute between Apple and Samsung shows that Samsung is having a lot of trouble on the US market. The Note 2 will probably be available in the US mid-September so you will just have to wait out a bit loyal fans!

Galaxy Note 2 Rumors

 The new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be a bit bigger from the first generation as Samsung is moving away from the 5.3 inch display in order to feature a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED screen. You probably won’t notice that the new phablet is much bigger, not because the 0.2 inches are hard to spot, but because the new models will also be slimmer and thinner making less bulky and less “fat” (as many people called it). The logic behind these changes is to make the device more comfortable to hold in one’s hand. The extra 0.2 inches are a nice touch but not so important as other things such as the resolution. There is debate between two possible resolutions and another debate if the Galaxy Note 2 will feature Super AMOLED or Super AMOLED Plus. About to get very slim!

 If you are not in the mood to read through all of that then the long story short is that some of the possible specs of the Galaxy Note 2 are:

• Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS
• A 8 or12 megapixel camera with software similar to the one on the Galaxy S3
• Quadcore processor, possibly running at 1.6 GHz
• 5.5-inch display (1680 x 1050 resolution)
• Super AMOLED display

 You can read up on the official Galaxy Note 2 release date if you want to know when to expect the device in stores near you, but the official word is that you can expect the device to be unveiled by the end of August.

  Unlike some other devices this one isn’t an Internet hoax and even Samsung has confirmed it is in the making. One of their recent posts to raise the publicity of the Galaxy Note 2 on Twitter was: "Which one of these are you excited about: #GalaxyBeam #GalaxyTab2 #GalaxyNote2 #Poll."
